About Sharon Matisoff

Sharon works in oil and pastel. Though primarily self-taught, she studied with some of California's best artists and teachers, including the late Richard Bunkall at the prestigious Art Center College of Design, PSA and renowned Chinese Master Shuqaio Zhou.

“I love to paint the human face and figure," Sharon says." Every person is unique and I consider it a personal challenge to try to capture the spirit of each of my subjects.”

Sharon has won numerous awards for her work, most notably her portraits. She is a juried associate member of the Pastel Society of America and the Oil Painters of America.
